No, I'm not talking about July 4th. Remember, I live in the future. It's already July 5th over here, which means my liberation is near at hand. I've done very little but study for the Japanese language proficiency test over the past couple months or so. It has ruled my focus and free time. It has robbed me of perspective. But today is the big day. I'm going to take a two hour trip out to Gifu University and sit a three hour test. When it's finally over, I will return to reality. I will return to thinking and talking about things other than studying for this crazy test. I will return to actually keeping in touch with people. I will be liberated from what has become an imprudent degree of focus.
I hope everyone back in the US has been enjoying the fireworks and barbecues today. I bet you guys didn't realize that you were celebrating my liberation, did you?
